These are the two ends of the metaphorical pendulum of reality; the inhabitants sitting highest of all, and the denizens of those places lower than low. They represent the eternal struggle between good and evil, each striving to win over the other. In this never ending battle, balance is achieved-- regardless of who it consumes...
Angels
The beings of light and order, good and truth, those born of celestial brilliance and the harmonies of the heavens are often seen as the harbingers of peace and safety. In truth, these beings only truly care for the greater good of all, the eternal balance of the world between good and evil to the exclusion of all else; to these beings reality is black and white.
Demon
The beings of hell and chaos, evil and deception, those born from hells fires and the torture within are often viewed as the harbingers of death and misfortune. In truth, these beings truly care for only their own end goals, no matter who stands in their way. To these beings reality is simply gray, there is no black and white.
