Living Plants

Lifespan: 130 years, though generally they live to about 90 years old.

Humans have always considered plants to be living, no matter how small or docile the plant. What went unknown to some, was what's now known as The Living Plants or plant people. Like all plant life, they come in different types and forms to match the climate they're grown in to help them acclimate. What were once seen as mysterious figures in the woods or movement in your backyard, is now known to be sightings of The Living Plant. Their culture is mainly focused on conservation and clean living, for their livelihood. They’re conscientious about their waste production and the type of things that they consume. Just like various cultures from other species, The Living Plants also all vary in their culture depending upon the type of plant they are. They view good and evil differently from standard species because their priority happens to be with conservation of their domain, but they do have set morals and views that guide their decision making.

Race Appearance:

Generally the Living Plant will be a humanoid like creature that looks like a combination of their specific plant and a human. They at one time looked more plant than humanoid, but overtime they’ve evolved to look like an even mix of both to even more humanoid.

Basic Abilities

Photosynthesis

The Living Plant gets all of its nutrients, carbon dioxide, and water from sunlight, which gives them a small amount of healing or recovery when exposed to sunlight.

Natural Green Thumb

When taking care of plant life, The Living Plant is in tune with the plants it's taken care of, so it can dial into the plants needs and desires to produce a successful harvest.

General Plant Ability

Each living plant has one ability enhanced by their natural species of plants. If playing a living plant, the player may select an attribute from the species of plant that The Living Plant belongs to and create a specialized skill based off of that. There will be a space on the application where you will need to specify what's the generalized plant ability.

Sense Surrounding

Plans can use the plant life around them to sense movement in the area around them. This means if something is going on nearby, The Living Plants can use any living habitat to know there is something going on but not specifically what is happening.

Minor Regeneration

If a living plant has a small piece of them cut off or damaged, they're able to regenerate that piece within reason. Meaning they cannot have their head cut off and then grow their head back but if they lose a finger, they're able to grow that finger over a long period.

Mortality

The Living Plant is a mortal being, which means no matter how well taken care of they are or their habitat is completely clear of any waste, they will eventually pass away. It is not something they can control and their habitat can also affect their life, which means if they are not conscious and take care of their surroundings, it can lead to a quicker death.

Shared Pain

Because The Living Plant is in tune with all living habitats or plant life around them, when it's harmed or damaged they share a pain or affect. This can be used to create issues for the plant if somebody's intentionally harming the environment around them, causing difficulties for The Living Plants and can even end in severe damage to them.

Drowning

Outside of water safe plant species, most plants cannot be submerged in water for very long before they begin to take damage to themselves. This makes swimming and bathing nearly impossible outside of specific species of plants.

Recovery

The Living Plant does not sleep nor really need a typical rest, they get all of their recovery from photosynthesis.

Climate Controlled

If you have a particularly difficult or fragile type of plants, understand it will affect your character as you need to be able to have your character live and exist in a climate that their plants standard counterpart exist in. You'll be granted the ability to use magic in the form of spells or potions to help with fragile plants. Usually that would be done on the Sim with another player, but if your character is coming to the Sim with magic already assisting them, please work with a member of staff to sort out how and where that was acquired by your character.

Acid Generation

Ability to generate acid, can be manifested through touch or as a spray (e.g. acid spit, acid blood, etc.).

Life Force Absorption

The ability to absorb the life force of another being through touch, rendering the victim unconscious, and stealing up to ten years of life to add to their own (OOC Permission required)

Chloromancy

This being is so attuned with nature that plants simply grow in their presence, perking up and turning towards them like a small sun. When summoned, plants will rapidly come alive, moving, growing, and shaping to the user's will.

Ecological Empathy

Ability to sense the overall well-being and conditions of one's immediate environment and natural setting stemming from a psychic sensitivity to nature

Spores

Ability to generate and control spores, which may have various effects that can influence and manipulate others.

Poison Generation

Ability to assault others with one or more varieties of toxins, with widely disparate effects.

Prophetea

Historically, those with Prophetea were considered an oracle. Those with Prophetea can use any method they wish to divine the future. These are the individuals who are most likely to receive visions, or warnings,  of present or future events.

NOTE: When doing readings for other players, CONSENT is paramount. 

The ONE exception to this rule is when those with this ability receive Storyteller visions regarding another player.

 

- All players with the Prophetea ability will receive visions from the storytellers at random times.

- In the case of Sim-wide plots, those with Prophetea may, upon receiving Storyteller visions, submit tickets for additional information in the form of visions.

- All those with Prophetea may request visions for individuals they are doing readings for from storytellers.  

- All those with Prophetea should discuss the potentials of their reading with their partner– ask permission, and get details the player is comfortable with sharing in a scene. If you are struggling, seek out a Storyteller.

Camouflage

Some living plants have the ability to appear as if they were a regular plant when within the vicinity of other plants/nature as long as they remain still.

Nature Spirit Communication

The ability to communicate with nature spirits for guidance and assistance.

Symbiosis

Some living plants are capable of pulling beneficial abilities from other things around them that are related to plants in some way.
